![]() I wouldn't use Better DS3 or anything such since Steam has built in support (which may be worse) and maybe the reason your controller isn't found by Better DS3 is that it have some sort of ID it provides which doesn't match with a DS3 controller and as such Better DS3 doesn't do anything with it because it don't want to do things with other controllers? ![]() Once they are linked up if it wasn't a third party controller then we'd know it work in Steam as a DS3 controller (I think?) but Steam also support generic controllers so I guess it would had worked anyway too. The dongle is bluetooth and DS3/PS3 controllers use bluetooth? If so run whatever the bluetooth thingy is in Windows and make sure they are paired up (I don't really know how it work on the controller but pressing the home/share/PS/whatever button and maybe holding it or something such while searching for bluetooth devices in Windows.) It'll be way easier to remember those on a controller (even a different one) than mouse and keyboard. I hope someone can help with this! I really need it so I can finally play Dark Souls 2, since the SotFS version doesn't allow for texture editing, which means I'm stuck with the default Xbox button prompts. ![]() That same port is no longer making that happen. My previous attempt at this, several days ago, one port I tried the dongle in made the controller vibrate endlessly after I'd installed the suggested things. The Windows thing for detecting and calibrating controllers isn't seeing it either, with the controller itself also plugged into the computer or not. But when I run Better DS3 (which is the other place I guess I could turn to for support), it doesn't show any connected controllers. At this point, whether some of the things I've tried have stuck or not, I plug the dongle in, Windows (8.1) makes the appropriate noise, Device Manager refreshes and shows "libusbK USB Devices" and under that "Wireless Controller for PS3". I'm attempting to get this Afterglow wireless PS3 controller that I've never used but have had for a while now working, and I'm having a LOT of trouble. I'm running the controller on a 2012 MBPr 13".If this is the incorrect section for this question, I apologize. It works very easily by allowing you to bind key strokes to any of the buttons or joysticks in the controller - not a single problem. Mavericks is fully supported in the latest release. ![]() I set this up very quickly without any problems to play Borderlands 2 (Steam edition) using a great shareware application called USB Overdrive. I could not find a single article on how to get this to work with OSX so wanted to post this to help out anyone else in the same position. It also has a pseudo XBox 360 controller layout for the left joystick / joypad which have been swapped over.Īnyhow, if anyone does purchase one of these to use for gaming on OSX, rest assured you have not wasted your money. However, this is a very nice controller and great value at £18 delivered from Amazon. I naively bought this 3rd party controller thinking it would be Bluetooth like an offical Sony PS3 controller only to learn that due to licencing restrictions, only Sony is allowed to make Bluetooth controllers for Playstation. ![]()
